Common name: N’Joy Pothos
Botanical Name: Epipremnum aureum ‘NJoy’. The ‘Njoy’ is a variety of the common house plant species, formerly known as Epirpremnum Pothos, or simply pothos. Each variety has a distinctive appearance. But all pothos are easy care houseplants even for those with a brown thumb!
Description:
Njoy is closely related to the Marble Queen, but the two aren’t all that similar in appearance. The NJoy has smaller leaf size and slower growth, compared to the Marble Queen and most pothos plants, making it a great house plant for those with smaller spaces. The NJoy may grow as long as 10 feet. But, if you prefer to keep the plant smaller, or encourage bushier growth, prune longer vines to the desired length. The NJoy is a vining plant and will readily climb, if given the opportunity.
The leaves on NJoy are thin, with a slight sheen, and are bright green with splotches or creamy white. Often the creamy white variegation will paint the edges of the leaves, and some plants will have some lighter green patches beautifully mixed in as well. The leaves are wide and heart shaped, as is typical for pothos.

Preferences
Light
The NJoy, like most varieties of Pothos, is pretty tolerant when it comes to light. It prefers bright, indirect light and you’ll find the plant is most beautiful and vivid variegation when the light is perfect. However, it can still grow well in medium to low light. If the plant does not receive enough light, the variegation will fade. If sunlight is direct, the leaves may scorch.
Temperature
The Njoy Pothos is native to the Solomon Islands, so it prefers warmer temperatures, 60°-90°F. But it can grow well indoors in most homes. It is not, however, a cold tolerant plant and it cannot survive under about 50°F. If you decide to bring your plant outdoors, make sure you bring it in before temperatures drop to 50°F or lower.
Watering
The Njoy only needs to be watered every 1-2 weeks. It can be stressed by overwatering, and can stand to dry out a bit between waterings. To ensure you water your Njoy Pothos properly, check the top 1 or 2 inches of soil to see that it has dried out a bit before watering. The soil deeper down should still be damp. If overwatered, the leaves may yellow and the roots may be vulnerable to root rot. If the plant isn’t getting enough water, the leaves will wilt, but should be recoverable.
Humidity:
The Njoy pothos is not particular about humidity. That said, it is a native to the tropics, so a little mist here and there, especially if your air is particularly dry or the air conditioning is running a lot, won’t hurt.
Soil
The NJoy Pothos is not particularly picky about soil. But it will thrive in a nutrient rich, well draining soil. Nearly any commercially available potting soil will work well for the Njoy Pothos. It is a light feeder and won’t need frequent fertilization.

Care Tips
The NJoy Pothos, like most pothos varieties, is an easy plant to grow. It is pretty tolerant of temperature, moisture, and sunlight variations, and doesn’t often require fertilizers or extra care. It is not particularly vulnerable to pests or diseases, though they can happen.

Safety Note
The NJoy Pothos, like all pothos, is toxic to humans or pets if ingested. If you have a pet or child that may chew on a plant, be sure to keep this plant out of reach, or reconsider if the NJoy Pothos is a good choice for your household.
